村上良子先生、重要無形文化財保持者（紬織）認定：「美術工芸の明日を担う２０人」

紬織の村上良子先生が重要無形文化財保持者（人間国宝）に認定されることが決まった。当社大乗取締役社長井谷善恵が2012年に『美術工芸の明日を担う20人』（里文出版）で取材執筆させていただいた日本工芸会に所属していらっしゃる１０人の先生方の中から、前田昭博（白磁）、山下義人（蒟醤）、須田賢司（木工芸）、大角幸枝（金工）先生に次いで、５人目である。

村上先生は『美術工芸の明日を担う20人』取材時、蘇芳などの日本で入手しにくい染料を除いては今でも京都のアトリエから少し離れた野山で見つかると、それらの植物で染められた糸や作品を手に取って見せてくださった。
日々、暑いとか蒸すなあとか、その日のお天気に不満を言うことも多いけれど、日本の里山の自然が長く守られますようにと願うとともに村上先生の認定を心から喜びたい。

Ms. Yoshiko Murakami is newly appointed as a living national treasure( Textile Art). I interviewed and wrote about her in my book “Bijutsu Kouei no Asu wo ninau 20nin(Twenty Artists Shaping the Future of Japanese Kougei”) published by Ribun Shupan in 2012. She is the fith national living treasure among the member of the arist among Japan Kougei Association followed by Maeta Akihiro, Yamashita Yoshito, Suda Kenji and Oosuki Yukie in my book.
